February 10-11, 2007
Troop 970 participated in the coldest annual (6 degrees with a stiff wind) Goose
Creek District Freeze O Ree event, held in the dead of winter with troops from all
around the District camping and competing for all manner of Scoutcraft skills, winter
sports, and outdoor competitions.
BJ Y. and Chris M. kept Troop 970 tradition alive by winning the Chili Cook-off for
the fifth straight year!
Goose Creek's Order of the Arrow Chapter has traditionally hosted the Freeze O
Ree, and is marked by senior Scouts from troops around the District organizing and
staffing the activity. It is a distinction of great trust in the older Scouts that few
Districts allow.
