February 10-11, 2006
This year's event lived up to it's name - Freeze-O-ree, with 18 inches
of snow in one night! Many troops never ventured out in the cold
weather and most of those who did left before nightfall. But not Troop
970. We were one of three troops who stayed the night.
Plenty of hot chocolate and chilli to warm our bellies kept the boys
going strong. The Scoutcraft skills, winter sports, and outdoor
competitions were loads of fun and we took many of the awards.
Goose Creek's Order of the Arrow Chapter has traditionally hosted
the Freeze O Ree, and is marked by senior Scouts from troops
around the District organizing and staffing the activity.
