Troop 970 returned to the C&O Canal for another
successful Bike Hike. The troop had not done a bike
trip since 2002 but we are hoping we can make it a
regular event. The weather was spectacular and
you could hardly hear the trains as they rolled by
during the night--unless you forgot earplugs!
We had approximately thirty scouts and twenty adults
in attendance. Some of the Senior Patrol and a few
adults went up to Brunswick Campground on Friday
to sample the local pizza and make final plans for the
weekend. On Saturday, one group did 15 miles,
three groups did 25 miles and another group did 50
miles. We also had a small group who rode another
25 miles on Sunday (after breakfast, clean-up and
breaking down camp).
